Before retiring from his family business, founded in 1919, Deacon Toby served as Director of Consultation & Education for the Mon-Yough MHMR Drug and Alcohol Program, Co-Director of the Western PA International Year of the Child, Trustee of St. Francis University in Loretto, PA, Board Member of the Pittsburgh Child Guidance Center, and was one of the founders of Pittsburgh Voyager (now Pittsburgh River Quest).

A US Army Veteran, Deacon Toby was appointed by South Carolina Governor Robert McNair as an undercover narcotics agent to assist the Richland County Sheriff’s Department in Columbia, SC.

Deacon Toby is the author of “The Assignment” a non-fictional account of his encounters with the Virgin Mary, and his renewal back to the faith. Also, “Waiting in Ravenwood” a fictional novelette based on a true experience of how prayer brings light to the darkness.

In his free time, Deacon Toby enjoys flying, and is an avid golfer and officer in the Civil Air Patrol.
